What does UnderbodyGuards sell?

UnderbodyGuards offers vehicle-specific underbody protection systems for vulnerable components under the vehicle. Depending on the model, protection may be available for the engine, gearbox, radiator, differential, transfer case, fuel tank, AdBlue tank, and other exposed areas.

Are your skid plates universal or vehicle-specific?

Our products are vehicle-specific and designed for precise fitment for particular car models and generations. We do not focus on generic universal plates.

Which countries do you deliver to?

We offer free shipping to a number of European Union countries within our delivery zone. All orders are shipped from our EU warehouse with DPD courier service. Delivery usually takes around 3–4 business days after dispatch, depending on the destination country.

Free shipping is currently available only to the following EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary,  Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. For shipping to other countries or regions, please contact us via the contact form.

Will underbody protection affect my vehicle warranty?

Our skid plates are designed to use existing factory mounting points and do not require any drilling, welding, or other modifications to your vehicle. However, warranty coverage is always determined by your vehicle manufacturer and dealer, so we recommend checking with your dealership before installation if warranty protection is a concern.

I can't find my vehicle model. What should I do?

If you can’t find your vehicle model, contact us at info@underbodyguards.com or submit your VIN for a manual compatibility check.

Please include your vehicle’s make, model, year, engine type, and VIN if available. Our team will review your vehicle details and help confirm the correct underbody protection.

Why should I submit my VIN if I already know my vehicle model?

Your VIN helps us verify the exact vehicle configuration before you order. Even within the same model and year, there can be differences in engine, drivetrain, production version, and mounting points. By checking the VIN, our team can manually confirm compatibility and recommend the correct underbody protection with more confidence.

What happens after I submit my VIN?

After you submit your VIN, our team reviews your vehicle details and checks compatibility manually. If we confirm a match, we will recommend the correct underbody protection for your vehicle. This helps reduce the risk of ordering the wrong part.

Is the VIN check free, and do I have to place an order?

Yes, the VIN compatibility check is free. Submitting your VIN does not obligate you to place an order. It is simply a way to verify fitment and help you choose the right protection for your vehicle before buying.

What's the difference between engine, transmission, fuel tank, and differential protection?

Each component serves a specific protective function:

  • Engine protection: Shields the engine block, oil pan, and lower engine bay from impacts and debris
  • Transmission protection: Protects the gearbox from damage during rough driving conditions
  • Fuel tank protection: Safeguards the fuel tank from impacts and road hazards
  • Differential protection: Protects the rear differential on vehicles with all-wheel drive or off-road capability
Can I use underbody protection with a lifted suspension or aftermarket bumpers?

Standard protection is designed for factory suspension and bumpers. If your vehicle has suspension modifications or custom bumpers, send us photos of your vehicle's undercarriage along with details of any modifications. We'll verify compatibility with our design specifications.

Is underbody protection suitable for off-road use?

Yes, our steel and aluminum skid plates are engineered to withstand impacts from rocks, ruts, debris, and light to moderate off-road conditions. Extreme motorsport use (rallying, racing) may not be covered by warranty. For heavy-duty off-road use, we recommend contacting us for specific recommendations.

What materials are used in your underbody protection?

We offer both steel and aluminum skid plates, selected based on the specific application and vehicle requirements. Material choice balances durability, weight, and ground clearance for optimal performance.

How is the protection treated against corrosion?

All metal components receive corrosion-resistant treatment, including protective coatings such as powder coating and zinc plating, depending on the specific product. This ensures long-term durability in wet, salty, and challenging environmental conditions.

Will underbody protection reduce my vehicle's ground clearance?

Skid plates are engineered to minimize ground clearance reduction. For most vehicles, clearance loss is minimal—typically just a few millimeters. SUVs and off-road vehicles often maintain factory or near-factory ground clearance.

Are there service access points for maintenance (oil changes, etc.)?

Yes, most protection designs include strategically positioned cutouts and openings to allow routine maintenance without removing the protection. Specific configurations vary by vehicle model.

Installation

Can I install the protection myself?

Yes. Each product includes comprehensive installation instructions specific to your vehicle model and a complete hardware kit. With basic tools and mechanical aptitude, installation is manageable for most vehicle owners or any qualified service center.

Do I need welding, drilling, or vehicle modifications?

No. Skid plates attach to manufacturer-designed mounting points on the chassis and body. No welding, drilling, or cutting of vehicle components is required.

How long does installation take?

Typical installation time ranges from 30 to 90 minutes per protection component, depending on your vehicle model and available equipment (lift access speeds the process). Installing multiple protection components (engine, transmission, fuel tank, differential) takes longer but remains a manageable job.

Can my regular mechanic install this?

Absolutely. You can purchase from us and have any mechanic, service center, or qualified technician install the protection. All necessary components and instructions are included in the package.

Ordering & Payment

How do I place an order?

Select your vehicle brand, model, and year, choose the protection components you need, add them to your cart, and proceed to checkout. Enter your delivery address and contact information, then select your preferred payment method.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept secure online payments by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Klarna, PayPal, and bank transfer by invoice. Full details and the exact set of available options for your country are shown at checkout and on our Payment page.

Can I request an invoice for a company purchase (B2B)?

Yes. If you place an order as a business and provide valid company details, an invoice will be generated and sent to you by email. If you also enter a valid EU VAT number and it is successfully verified, VAT may be removed in accordance with applicable EU tax rules.

Are prices on UnderbodyGuards shown with or without VAT?

All prices on underbodyguards.com are shown including VAT. If you enter a valid EU VAT number at checkout and it is successfully verified, VAT may be removed according to applicable EU tax rules.

I have a valid EU VAT number. Will you charge VAT?

If you enter a valid EU VAT number at checkout and our system verifies it, we will not charge VAT on your order (intra‑Community supply). If the VAT number is invalid or cannot be verified, VAT will be added according to your country.

Do you charge VAT for orders shipped outside the European Union?

We currently deliver only within the European Union. If delivery outside the EU becomes available, VAT will not be charged, but local import VAT, customs duties, and other fees may apply according to your country’s regulations.

Where can I see the final price including VAT and shipping?

The final amount, including VAT (if applicable) and shipping, is shown on the last step of checkout before you confirm and pay for your order.

Shipping & Returns

Is shipping free and how long does it take?

Yes, shipping is completely free on all orders. Standard delivery time is 3-5 working days after your order ships. Delivery may take slightly longer for remote regions or during holiday periods.

How will I know when my order has shipped?

You'll receive an email confirmation with order status and tracking information after shipment. You can also check your order status anytime in your account dashboard on our website.

What if my package arrives damaged?

Upon receipt, carefully inspect the package and contents. If damage is visible, document it with photos and have the courier note it on the delivery form. Contact us immediately with photos and your order number—we'll arrange a replacement or alternative solution.

Can I return or exchange the protective plate if it doesn’t fit my vehicle?

Yes. If the protective plate doesn’t fit your vehicle, please contact us at info@underbodyguards.com with your order details. We will review the case and help arrange a return or exchange according to our return policy.

Warranty & Maintenance

What warranty coverage is included?

All products include a 24-month manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, improper installation, modification, or misuse.

What is not covered by warranty?

Warranty does not apply to damage from serious accidents, extreme off-road use, motorsport activities, or failure to follow installation and operation instructions. Normal wear of protective coatings and cosmetic damage without functional impact is not considered a warranty claim.

Do I need to maintain or clean the protection?

Periodic inspection and cleaning are recommended, especially if you regularly drive on rough terrain. Remove accumulated dirt, sand, and debris to prevent corrosion buildup and maintain protective effectiveness.

Will underbody protection affect fuel consumption or noise levels?

The added weight of protection is negligible compared to your vehicle's total mass and has no measurable impact on fuel consumption. In some cases, protection may actually reduce aerodynamic noise and airflow turbulence beneath the vehicle.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

How do I process a return?

Contact us by email at info@underbodyguards.com and request a return authorization. We'll provide return shipping instructions and a return label. Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll process your refund according to the method you used to pay.

Are returns free?

We cover return shipping for returns initiated within 30 days of purchase due to product issues or errors on our part. Returns initiated after 30 days for change-of-mind may require you to cover return shipping costs. Contact us for specific guidance on your situation.

How long does a refund take?

After we receive your return, inspections typically take 2-3 working days. Refunds are processed to your original payment method and may take 3-5 additional business days to appear, depending on your financial institution.
